My LCD screen is telling me to service in 1100 miles, i am going to bring it on monday to get it "serviced" what ecactly do they do when the "service" the car.

its got 73,000 and its a 2000 1.8tq

That is just a counter set to X amount of miles. You can reset it or change the amount until it goes off with a vag cable. Its just a reminder, not a requirement
