I highly recommend Cooper winter tires. I've tried the more expensive brands and found that these are equal or better. My B5 1.8TQ drives better in the snow than my wifes 4x4 SUV!
As far as I'm concerned our Audi's are the best.

Yesterday I had to honk a girl out of my way in the pedestrian crosswalk because there was no way I was stopping for her.
On a related note, I've been liking my Dunlop M3s. Still able to have fun in the snow, but all the terror is gone from stop-and-go traffic.
