shaferbm's Build Thread. (Progress at least..)
This is my first Audi and I'm already in love. I haven't even driven it yet as I picked it up with some issue in the drive line. But the build quality is great and I looks and overall feel of the car. It's a 1999 1.8t 134k, the guy I bought it from dumped a ton of money in it: new control arms (almost all new in front), wheel bearings all around, and BRAND new tires (still have the nubs on them). The car's clean except for missing a radio, rust spot on hood, and one on the trunk. It's also missing a lower from valence or whatever the black plastic thing on the bottom of the front bumper is. PM me if you have one you want to sell me. Not sure about my plan for this car, but I want to make it near perfect before thing are going to get crazy.

The guy I bought it from said it drove fine and one day driving there was a popping noise and it wouldn't drive anymore.

So I got the car home and we pulled the trans, and today finally got to the clutch, which turned out to be the problem. It seems the clutch wore out, and when it did, the clutch disc also broke away from it's center. This explains the vibration the seller told me about. I also ordered a new key fob off of ebay for $30, and found an oem symphony radio out of a parts car on craigslist for $30. Tomorrow the flywheel is getting resurfaced, and I'm going to shop around for a clutch. Hopefully I'll be able to get a clutch in the thing tomorrow.
On a side note: How sick would Avus wheels be in the future? Or Are they too overplayed?

Tell me that turbo badge isn't awful. I promptly removed it, almost as soon as the car was on the lift haha.

Got a B7 OEM rack off ebay....should've at least gotten a B6 rack, because who kows of this will actually fit. Already had to shorten the crossbars and remount the feet. Now it seems I'll have to modify the party that goes in the door frame to hold the rack on.....no idea how. Hope I'll be able to.
Anyways I think they look sweet!
