Yeah, its kinda a pita. I always just un bolted my coolant resovior and popped my hand down there and unscrewed. Easy job, Audi designers could have made it alot worse.

I seriously have more difficulty from the top, than the bottom... I do it from the bottom everytime.

Since I have extra space from where the stock smic was, does anyone know where I can get an oil filter relocation kit?

That's how I do it. No problem at all.

Thats how ive been doing mine.. Pretty simple if you take the screws off the coolant resevoir and move it.

And to avoid oil spillage cut a coolant bottle in half and slip underneath the filter when draining

OH hey, good idea AudiTech04! I was just about to post that i had gotten the oil filter removal from top down cold, but the only thing that bothered me was the oil going all over the place. After doing 2x kerosene flushes, then another just for insurance, i've got it down to a science. I just move the cooland res. out of the way, then use my small strap wrench just to loosen it and im good to go.

yup thats a good way to keep the mess to a minimum
