Should I do anything else to my car while it's in for head gasket?
I ran my Taurus SHO with no coolant in if for nearly 10 miles on a hot day, but I DID shut it down when the needle spiked and waited till it went back down a bit. Granted though that engine is tough as nails and I never had any head problems or gasket leaks resulting from that.
Wait, let me get this straight... you said the SHOP found a bad head gasket? Uh oh... did you do a compression check yourself?

They did the comp test and it was all fine. Leakdown failed, as when they put in the air in cyl 2 it came out cyl 3. They said that the comp was all within the norm.
So, the HG is only bad between Cyl 2 & 3 according to them.

Humm interesting. Usually when a HG is bad it will show up on the compression check alone. Leakdown tests are usually to find bad valves. Well, their diagnosis is probably fine. The milling of the head won't change compression much. I actually wouldn't worry about it.
I really wasn't worried about it. Like I said, the shop seems to know what they're doing. If they didn't, they wouldn't be in business.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahaha you may THINK that but talk with me or i3uddha for a while and your opinion on that matter might change
