The Lotus Exige is in fact the best handeling car on the market, but it lacks straight line performance. It is unbelivably small and would just be a pain in the *** to drive everyday....On the weekend, well thats a different story

IMO for $50k there are many cars with just as good of power to weight ratios, that will handle good and still be practical.
Look into an AMG SLK 350 or a Z4 M coupe or if you want a rear engine try the Boxster

I always joke about the Lotus Elise, Is it the poor mans Ferrari? or the rich mans go-kart?

Theres a company the sells Supercharged Elises that will run 10's forgot who is was that sells it though

I testdrove it... The Other day... I didnt like it... The Warranty is like 2 year 36k miles. The car has a rear view mirror on it yet you cant see out of the back becuase the engine is there. ( that was what really let me know... they really didnt have this vehicle figured out) If lotus is all about being light weight why leave a mirror there that cant be used for anything except looking at a japanese engine in a british car.. Also the vehicle took bumps like a radio flyer.

 

I'd make the trade.. Lets see.. Slow *** 3.2 Audi or small awesome fun 4.7 (60) lotus... As long as you know what your getting yourself into make the trade... Even though most people would either own the Audi, or the Audi and the Lotus.. The lotus seems like a weekend driver but if your willing to drive in a small area then thats awesome. I'd enjoy driving a Lotus to work everyday, personally.

I think the exige is a sleek and sexy looking machin however I think to get rid of your Audi for one is just not practical, that car is not practical. Like someone else had said as an additional car HELL YEAH but as your main car stick with what you have. Plus exiges are more expensive.

dude no, i stepped up to one its a my waste and im 5'11 so yeah ouch! and plus those cars dont hav good suspenstion or power. it looks different but not worth the price, how much u planning on pay for it anyways?

Just buy a Elise and put a SC'ed K20 in it. Some guy did in Sport Compact Car and was making about 320hp and 210ft/lb with it. Now if I'm correct...in such a light car, that's pretty fast...like crap your pants fast
