I could swear when I first bought this car it beeped to remind me I've left the lights on. Now no matter what I try it's not beeping at me? Is is supposed to beep as a reminder? It's already the second time I've left my parking lights on... Or did I turn it off somehow by accident?

It should beep when you open the door.

 

OK, yep...im pretty sure it worked a coupple weeks ago. Just for the last coupple of days there's nothing. Did I reset somthing? Or is there some trick to getting that back on?

 

it only makes the noise when your door is open i have a 2002 A4

 

Just tested it again...no luck. Keys were out, door open, parking lights turned on. No sound. If there's no trick to it I'm sure warranty will cover it right?

 

If you are under warranty, have them take care of it. May just be some soft coding with a vagcom. Do your inside lights go on when you open the driver's door? If not, it may be the door switch.

 

Yep, lights work just fine. I wonder what the hell happended....

Today I'm not sure what I did, but I parked and turned the key to the on postion. Then opened the door and it worked. There has to be some trick to turn it on and off.
