Default Sirius satellite tuner for RNS-E

I've bought a pre-owned '06 A4 equipped with RNS-E and it came with XM tuner (part # 8E0 035 593 E). This XM tuner works fine but I personally prefer Sirius so I decided to swap it for Sirius tuner. According to most internet sources (i.e http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec121.shtml), the right Sirius tuner I needed was 8E0 035 593 D.
I've bought it on eBay, however when I installed it, the radio didn't display anything besides "Call 1.888.539.SIRIUS to subscribe". It didn't play any of the preview channels, nor channel 184, which is needed for activation. I though that the unit was defective, returned it and got another one withsame part#. Same story.
I thencalled Audi dealer and I've been told that the right Sirius tuner for my car is actually 8E0 035 593 F.
Does it mean that siteswww.audiworld.com , http://www.navplus.us listincorrect part numbers?
Has anybody heard about 8E0 035 593 F? Is it the same as 8E0 035 593?
I'm confused now.

Have you tried to call the number and given the subscription number? It is possible the RNS-E unit needs to be re-programmed to know it has a Sirius unit attached and not an XM unit.

Sure I did call Sirius and of course it didn't work because in order for the unit to be activated it needs to be tuned to channel 184. Like I saidthe RNS-E didn't even allow me to change channels on the tuner.
When I connected 8E0 035 593 D to myRNS-E it just says "Sirius", but that's about it, no channels, no sounds... So it does recognize it as Sirius tuner but it apparently can't communicate with it.
I haven't heard anything about reprogramming RNS-E. How is it done?

Also, I'm wondering if anybody has Audi A4 B7 with RNS-E and Sirius. And if yes then what's the Sirius tuner part #?

You will need a VAG-COM device to do it yourself or take it to your local Audi shop or the dealer and have them do the change. It may cost $100 (1 shop hour).

Finally got myself 8E0 035 593 FSirius tuner. Just as the dealer told me. Works perfect with my RNS-E setup. No reprogramming was needed. Apparently the info such as http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec121.shtmlis wrong. Unfortunately it's the only info that pops out when you do a Google search.

I was going to find out for you. I just put an RSN-E (came with the stock radio) in my car. Works great with the Sirius, and my ipod! (Dice Connector)

I have the correct sirius you need. I want the Xm unit. We can swap and I will pay for postage. Or buy you xm and sell my sirius. I have 1 channel I listen to and it's not on sirius. Frank Wargo. 781-858-9547 my 2007 rs4 has the rns unit that works for yours
