Slow to Shift on First Run of the Day
Hey, I've got a 1999 2.8 w/tiptronic. On the first run of the day, the automatic transmission is really slow to shift into second. It never goes past 4500 rpms before sliding up to second, but it still seems weird to me since most automatics are only too eager to jump to second...this one included except for the first run of the day. I can shift it no problem using the tiptronic. This never lasts very long, it's always fine by the time I start rolling again after the stop sign at the end of my short street. Should I be letting the car run for a minute or two before driving in the morning? Also, I'm in Houston, so it's definitely not cold here. Does this sound right to you guys?
