Default Smell burning oil...please help

Hi,

Over the last 2 days I've smelt burning oil after driving the car and noticed a faint smoke comming from my engine bay. Today I poped the hood and noticed that the smoke was comming from the left side of the engine bay and looked like it was dripping belown my turbo so I got under the car and it's not the turbo leaking. I also notice a small leak at the back of my engine comming from that half moon shaped opening. I did search this and am thinking it may be a bad engine gasket, any ideas guys and if so how much should i expect to pay to have this problem fixed?

Thanks for your time, Justin

Yes, it is defenitely the gasket that needs to be replaced ASAP. As far as how much your going to spend, I am not sure. Of course if you take it to the dealer, they will probably cahrge you 800.00 or more. It is easy to replace. If you are mechanically inclined, then go for it.

Would it be harmful if I didn't replace it for a week or two or is this something that needs to be done asap?

Update: I pulled the valve cover off and it's def the seal as there is a nice black residue along the engine as described in many of the searches. My only question if someone could please answer this is am I still able to drive or does this need to be repaired asap?.

Thanks

if you went tot hte trouble to pull the valve cover off, why didn't you just replace the valve cover gasket while you were at it?
