Default Burning Oil smell

so iv had this problem for a while and cant get a answer to the problem. Lately my car has been smelling like burning oil when i get home and park it in my garage, i live in cali so it can get pretty hot here sometimes and iv noticed when its really hot and i have to keep topping up my oil every now and then because it seems to burn. i took it to a shop and they said it might be the oil screen which is clogged and needs replacing (300+) and another place said it may be the oil cooler. Anyone have any suggestions? does a oil screen really cost 300 or more to fix? its right on top of the engine bay right next to the oil cooler i believe doesnt seem hard to change at all

You probably have either valve cover gaskets , cam tensioner seal or cam plug leaking down on to the exhaust.
It would be a good idea to have a shop that specializes in Euro cars look at it.

The seals themselves would not make any noise unless possibly the oil was bleeding out of the system causing air to have to bleed out preventing oil too the tensioner.

M5S5 is right. I'd bet on it.

Audi's don't have oil cooler problems..... secondly its not located in a position where leaking oil would burn off
