Smoke from new breaks?
I just got new breaks (stock OEM) and i went to go test them out to s e how they were and really week but i just thought this normal for a few days and then i was drinving and wite smoke started to come out of the right rear tire. i took it to the shop and they said that because i was breaking hard it made them smoke because they treat the new rotors with some oil to prolong shelf life and i burnt it off really quickly. is this true? and my "new" breaks are still ver week and it been about 4 days since i got them. should i take it back.
so u got rear brakes done? ya i did mine too and i must agree they are weak. so were u applying the ebrake instead of the foot brake? there should a tiny bit of smoke. should even be enough to blur vision. if they were rly smoking then i think u have a problem. maybe try spray ur brakes with sum brake cleaner and see if it does anything. and does it still smoke?
HAHA, good ol' smoky rotors. I had the same problem as jeff, ive had people tell me about it at stop lights.. its hilarious. o well, another day another dollar... i guess??
but its normal dont worry.
