SOCAL PALOMAR RUN REFLECTIONS
what a great run today, met Adam up in SD, then Will u in Encinitas, then I met up with Richard and Joe at the 76 while Adam and Will missed the exit going 100 mph.
so we started the run, stuck behind a few cars, easy pass, while going up hill, we all passed by a cement truck that almost caught on fire, i think Will got to see the fire while we were having too much driving the twisties..........
speaking of twisties................ what a fun twisty rd today......... we ran the exact route on the map I showed in earlier posts. up mt palomar.......... good thing we didn't see a Cop until the last block of the run......... then stopped by a scenic view............. what a great view.
then made our way downhill on the other side of the mountain, more twistes......... stopped in Julian for lunch, waited 30 mins outside a restaurant for a table, then decided to go to Subway instead. Had lunch, Then Adub had to return home, so the rest of us ran more twisties out on the 78 East
i'm not going to give details......... i'll let the other member give you details on their thoughts.......... hit the open rd, everyone trying to hit max speed.
turned around, everyone was mentally drained running soooooooooo many twistes, so we took it easy and went to Pala Casino where I won 30 bucks and so did A3Night
what a fun Run today was........ hopefully this will inspire more members to join us next time.
oh by the way............i think EVERY car went out of control at least 5 times during the run........... my gas pedal got stuck on one of the runs for 2 miles until it miraculously went back to normal.
Every corner has its characteristics and at EVERY corner, every Audi left it's tire mark on the rd.
i'm glad no one got hurt today
thanks all for coming out and joining
Thanks A3Night for getting the walkie-talkies
Thanks to the Big Guy up there to keep us alive

That was some crazy fun, high speed through the twisties, tires squeeling and engine revving at 4500-redline all the way up. A3Night saw my car go sideways on one of the sharp turns, I went a little too hot and lost a bit of traction(I don't recommend a non-sport suspension with all season tires quattro speeding through there). I was all over the road just trying to keep up with the rest

yeah, i lost control a few times during the run, but one MAJOR one during the run right after lunch, my car totally lost it and ran into the other lane, going sideways, then i looked in the rear view mirrow, capmorgan was doing the same 10 ft behind slidding onto the other land sideways........ today.......... i found the limits of the car.......... but the swaybar really helped me.......... when i ran the mountain a few weeks ago without the new sway bar, i couldn't do what i was doing today
Was a real blast... except for the the fumes from Joe's exhaust and Nam's brakes...
Everyone was pushing the limits of their cars. This run was NOTHING like our previous runs. Life or DEATH was on the menu today. You could literally see the grim reaper in the rear view with every corner we took. Oversteer, understeer, traction loss, and some scary negative g's we took while running through the dips with corners. Best thing was NO CARS. After we went 1/4 up Palomar it was clear sailing for 98% of the time.
We need to do runs like these. The run at least lasted 2.5 solid hours. Coming back home my left leg is dead from pushing against the dead pedal and my right leg is dead from the constant throttle and braking. Also, for some reason I got sun burned[:@]!
I'll try to post a vid asap. As the only shots I have are from within my car, I'll probably just post and uneditied/unplugged version. The tire screeching...gas burning... break smoking...corner grabbing... should be all the music you guys need
... but the real reason is that my wife can't see me editing our run today... she thought I was in San Diego for business [:-][:-][:-]

we held up ok because of the quattro, capn and all them can smoke me in the straights, i put my car sideways a few times though
, those a3's are fast little bastards haha, 78 on the way back was kinda cool, i passed like 4 cars and a guy pulled up to me at the next light and just stared even tho he was goin right.... he was pissed i blew by him i guess

Cap did great. Thank god he didn't have a chip/extra HP otherwise the A3 < A4 [:-]... he gave nam a hard time I believe by driving right on his ***
Truly god must've been wathcing us. I propose to build a church and start a new religion 4-Rings. It was amazing no one spun out. I think Joe had the closest encounter. He was basically in a 4 wheel drift pitched 30 degrees to the left of his ideal line... his right rear tire and *** was just inches from the mountain side... I wish I had my CAM on that time...

my leg was pretty much shaking when i got home......... don't know from what though. my front grill is full of dried debris, anything from bird shiat, to insects to leaves to some gue that i don't even know what it is, but i cleaned it up though.
hopping over those hills were really fun, but i'm sure our suspension didn't like it. after the first couple twisties, i kinda knew the limits of my car so i knew how fast i should take a corner, i'm pretty sure A3Night knew HIS limits too, but he pushed it even further, everytime i heard my tires slip a little, i look in the rear mirror and i see A3Night slipping also but on the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i prayed that there was no car coming around the blind corner and my prayers were answered.
we ran it soooo hard that even capmorgan's belt were even making noises!!!!!!!!!!!
before the run, we thought that we were gonna scare the shiat out of the other drivers on the rd, but by the end of the runs, i thought to myself......."damn, were were SCARING THE SHIAT OUT OF OURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!"
we were mentally drainned, but winning a couple bucks at Pala Casino kinda energized us a little, i should stopped when i was up 150bucks, but had to gample most of my winnings away
sorry Jason, we didn't stop at noodles........ maybe next time when you run palomar with us!
hope Richard took vids of that one run where we had 1/2 ft clearence between our cars and the boulders, that st didn't have no shoulder, just huge rocks
Joe, you missed me winning a pretty nice jackpot from the 25 cent slots, i won $106, then 30 seconds later, the guy next to me won $369.
