some noob questions
allright so i currently have a 96 12v and im looking to buy a 95-98 1.8t and mod it out. i dont know if 220 hp is going to be enough for me so im doubting my choice( after chipped with full exhaust ). here's my questions:
1 what is the maximum psi that the 1.8t engine can handle?
2 i saw there was a 20v engine? i thought it was an 8v for the 1.8t...
3 are a chip and full exhaust the only way to get the hp without upgrading fuel system or stock internals?
4 couldnt i just buy a bc and bg without spending 400 dollars on a chip?
5 and finally could i just upgrade to a slightly bigger turbo, without bigger injectors? and would that be cost worthy
thanks for any help sorry if i rambled just curious on the best setup for a 1.8t for a deecent price

RE: some noob questions
hahah yeah i know the search wasnt working for me before but now it just did but still i have a few more questions im gonna go with an apr chip, 2.5 inch turbo back exhaust with a high flow cat, and then prolly a cold air intake. then ill get some deecent rims, kamei grill and clear corners or one pieces and ill be set. so yeah another question would be am i going to need a new clutch with this setup (230 hp ish)? ill go search some more but whatev man im so lazy, thanks dudes

RE: some noob questions
no, you wont need a new clutch, but you'll launch MUCH better with a stage 2 or rs4 clutch..definitely not necessary though...as far the CAI, you might want to consider modding your stock airbox and getting a k&n panel filter instead...CAIs are only beneficial to 2.8s or 1.8Ts with BIG turbos (gt28+), you'll just make your car run hotter with one which will actually cause a loss of power

2. yes the 1.8Ts are 5 valve per cyl so if my math is still correct it would be lets see carry the 5 and add the 4 yup 20 valves
3. it would be the most relialbe way and maybe a FMIC
4. with a MBC u are wasting ur time and giving urself a head ache, let he pros waste their time and design u a prgram that wont make u run lean or rich, or blow ur turbo or engine
6. and no u cant upgrade to a bigger turbo with out buying larger injectors casue more air means more fuel and our stock injectors are small, there is a GIAC K04 kit that is programed so it doenst need new injectors but the power out put is weak
