Default Sound system

SO i got some left over money, and i guess im thinking of getting a modest system, at most 1 10in. But i really would like to avoid putting a box in my trunk. They have what they call slim sub woofers from sony. Can i have a setup under the rear seat, or is that pusthing it?
Whats the cost for a system done right??

Tons of different ways to go about this. Sounds like you dont want anything crazy. i would go to a good sounds shop let them know what you expect from a sound stand point. you might be better off not getting a sub.Look into a good set of front and rear compenet speakers to replace your stock ones. if propery powered with a 4-channel amp and with a new headunit, it will sound like you have a pair of tens in your car, but you wont have the bukly box in your trunk. If you really want a sub they will build you a custom box to suite any cargo needs in your trunk, but remember if you add a sub its gonna take away form your mids and highs. Leaving you to want to replace the stock speakers. Do it right and replace those first.

Depends, im getting my audi from the dealer tomorrow so i havent really had a chance to look. Door speakers can be a pain, but not impossible. ususally if you buy the speakers at a custom car shop your getting a better price than you would at best buy or form crutchfield, plus they usually cut you a break on installs cause you bought your suff there.

Oh, well im still thinking about these things, i really have no problem with the speakers now, they do a good job, but what do i know. Its a sound system or an intercooler, which i do need for the ko4. Everything under the hood is normal to me, in the car its foreign. How far would 600 dollars get me?

i have installed a bunch of systems, but never in an audi. Couple vw's and they werent fun(compored to hondas and chevys). if your mechanically inclined and patient, you can dig up some DIY's on speaker installs for your car and do the work yourself. If you've never installed a amp, head unit, or speakers before i wouldnt recommend trying it out first on a car like yours. Just my opinion...

you can go to crutchfield.com punch in your exact car and they will tell you what fits. 600 bones, honesly,IMOP, keep saving and doing perf. mods. audio when done right is expensive.
