Interested in this for my MK5 GTI. klum00, you've got email.

Also, anyone know for sure whether this is a soldered chip or simply a software reflash?

a few more questions that came to mind:
What kind of fuel was the car using when it made those gaines was it 91 93 or 100?
if it was pump gas is theyre a gain in power on running 100?
are these gaines off of euro fuels or u,s fuels?

thnx in advance

For those interested, I emailed Oliver at SpeedTuning and for the 2.0T FSI, its a straight reflash, no soldering required. I also did some more research on the company that confirmed all of what klum00 has said. These guys are big in Europe, esp. with the Volvo and MB crowd.

Not sure which fuel was being used, but I am fairly certain it is pump gas. The euro octane levels have different number but that is because they use different measurement. Should be relatively the same.

We are going to get this going as soon as possible, I am going to talk to Oliver today about payment and such. The more the merrier, because once we have 10 definites we can start getting our's tuned.

Yeah like I said before, I encourage anyone who wants to do their own research. And yes, all of the re-maps that I have spoken with Oliver about so car habe been straight reflashes, no soldering.

I wish there were some way for my guy to install their chip. Love the price, I would absolutely buy it, but for the downtime. If a spare ECU appeared on my doorstep, that would be one thing, but adding $150 (to get a spare ECU) to the price of the chip puts the total price close enough to that of one of the big boys that it's just not worth it. There's really no way to get around sending my ECU to them?

No, unfortunately there isn't. See if you can find someone to loan you a car for a few days, or give you a ride to school/work. A three day down time really isn't that bad.

Aaron, did you ask Oliver about the upgrades yet? For example, that guy that just did his APR on the stock B7 said that once he put on an exhaust, he has to have APR reflash it with the stage 2. I already have an exhaust on myB5, but will that make Oliver's flash different for mine over, say, a stock B5? Any answers yeton ifa new DV is recommended by Oliver? Thanks.
