For the record, last month's Car & Driver has a head-to-head between the latest Viper and a C6 Z06. Their determination re: the Z06 was that lots of things would beat it on the track and in the real world because its handling quirks render it virtually undrivable. Its propensity to swap ends in even the most routine handling situations was, in the words of several C&D staffers, "scary". In fact, more than one of them remarked that after driving the car the first time, they never wanted to drive it again.

im sorry but a dodge viper wouldnt handle better than a c6 z06 in a million years. vipers are known best for putting tons of uncontrollable power down. u should check to see if the article was sponsored by dodge. i saw a tire shootout by C&D and the by far best tire on there took last and and the worst, took first, then u see it was sponsored by the "first place" winners. i wont mention the names of the tires because i know that will start a new fight. but seriously, start reading a more reliable mag. i hate them.

Alright, comparing a sti to a neon is downright stupid. Doesnt the Sti have a claimed 0 to 60 in 4.6 to 49. Where as the neon is in the 5.7 to 5.9 range.
Also, i called the srt4 neon about 5yrs years ago before i could even drive, i know there either a neon or cav would be made fast in the near future, to try and shake the ricer image.

yea the thread is wrx vs. srt-4, i don't know why the sti started playin such a big role in the posts.
am i the only one who doesn't like the viper, why pay around ninety grand for a dodge pos. u could spend it much more wisely. i would hit up the new z06 before i would even think of the viper.
dont get me wrong, viper are sick, but theres a laundry list 7 pages long of how to better spend the cash.
