Default Stealership trying to yank my chain? Recall Issue:

so i've been having some noisy issues with my passenger suspesion area.. so im thinking tie rods or control arms since that seems to be a fairly common problem and there is a recall for the tie rods...

so i call the stealership today to find out what the deal was.. what was going on and when i could bring my car in to have the tie rods checked and replaced .. well the service guy told me that there wasnt a recall for the tie rods for my car.. that the recall i was looking at just generalized years and wasnt VIN# specific.. so he took my VIN# and said that the only recall for my car was for a timing belt tensioner ..

gettting jerked around ... or has anyone else ran into this trying to have the tie rods recalled?

it could be right "did they say they were going to do the tentioner" this should require a new timing belt

yes sir ... they said they were going to "check and see if it was the updated tensioner" so im guessing its probably not.. and i will get my timing belt replaced.. which is perfect since i have 74k on my car and no history when the timing belt was done..

There was no recall for the tie rods but there was one for the lower control arms, im pretty sure thats what you are thinking of

And on the recall for the timing belt-you wont be getting a free T-Belt job out of it so dont get your hopes up
