iM NOT GETTING FUEL, I JUST REPLACED MY FUEL PUMP NOT TO LONG AGO SO IM THINKING IT MIGHT BE MY FUEL FILTER, I REMEMER SEEING A FUEL FILTER DIY SOMEWHERE JUST CANT SEAM TO FIND IT, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.. LIKE I SAID I ALMOST DIDNT MAKE IT HOME.. REALLY BAD, I HAVE THE NEW FILTER JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO START

thats the one thank you bro. you dont even know.. first thing tomarrow moring.. might be why im having issues at high RPM's but tonight it was so bad, the car was jerking back firing lik crazy and just felt like it was getting no fuel at any rpm

no i just woke up.. didnt even think about checking the MAF its rather intermitant.. thats probably what it is.. dam.. i check all the conections today

 

how would i go about checking the MAF just unplug it and see if that changes anything

 

Do you have vag com?? What is your problem at wot again?? Goes into limp mode? Did you have codes?? If you unplug your maf, youll run real rich. But when maf's die they either will make you run rich or lean, could be either. So if your maf is dying and running rich, and you unplug it and nothing changes then you know its the maf.. I was running lean and got a too lean code and cel a couple times in the last 2 weeks... i replaced the maf and its fine now...

 

when i hit the car it sputters out, but not all the time, its intermitant, more so lean like its not getting fuel, no codes though but ill check it again when my gf brings me my scan tool. or maybe its getting to much fuel i really dont know, all i know is sometimes when i hit the gas i get a sputter and it wont go anywhere, and then at high rpms i get that predetination sound or knock and it back fires alot

 

i remember reading somewhere i could use the audi tt 225 maf on the 1.8t its a **** load cheaper, just was woundering if it would just give my more problems

 

hmmm knock sensor could be a candidate or even CAM sensor throwing the timing out, at worst the timing belt jumped a couple of teeth (need codes) does the CEL work??
