when im on the highway and downshift (with the tip) to get high rpms for a pass, they jump to like 4200-4300, with the pedal to the floor, yet the car doesnt seem to accellerate. then, they quickly drop to just below 4000, pedal still on the floor and the car begins to pick up speed. why the drop in rpms? is this normal? its not the tach because i can hear the engine pitch as well, and you can hear the pitch drop.

 

did u get all the recalls becasue i have 2002 and we had a recall on something wit the tip trannys

 

no tip yeah stick. i hear ***** stories about those trans form my dealership. about cars stalling and locking up the tires.

Are you chipped?

Is your N75 valve reacting to high boost and opening the wastegate for a few seconds?

 

I think he ment horror Stories, but maybe he has some good ***** stories too......lol

 

it could be your coil pack too, they had a recall from factory on the B5 coil packs. if you never got that "upgrade" yet, get it. the coil packs were known to go bad.

 

Doesn't sound like coil packs.

That would give your rough idle and throw a CEL
