Stupid o2 sensor
its only one sensor that's out bank2 sensor 2, if you look at the engine from the front bank 1 is to the left which is where number 1 spark plug is so the sensor your having problems with is the right side nearest the cat
That was a confusiny reply. So what you are saying is that i only need to replace one sensor? I hate to say it, but i had the stealership check it out. They specifically said the TWO o2 sensors after the cats.
Does the CEL code always come up if any O2 sensor is busted?
last time i took the car to a dealership to have them check for a recall, they told me to replace the o2 sensors. but i haven't seen any CEL light come on yet. i did notice that the gas milleage was a bit lower than usual when i last filled up. but maybe that's just the gas or something. i'll see what milleage i get this time.
Correct. The pre-cat sensors are the ones that determine fuel mixture. The post cat sensors are there to compare to the pre-cat readings to tell you whether you catalytic converter is working properly.
