Default Stupid Problem, any ideas?

Just bought my '03 A4 1.8t about a month ago and I just noticed that the "ash tray" in front of the gear selector in the middle console wont open. It will open about a half inch but then stops. I've tried to muscle it open but it wont budge. Does anyone know how to take it apart and fix it? I dont want to have to take apart the entire console.
Thanks

maybe a penny or something got stuck under it.

Slide a popsicle stick w/ some double side tape on it under there.

Maybe the guy who was on the threads a few weeks ago saying he lost a penny there, and the warranty won’t cover repair, sold his car and now you have it. I think coin will be the general consensus on this one.
