switch blade key
Hey guys iv been doing alot of research on this forum and i couldnt find anything about how to find the FCC code for the remoteless entry. I am trying to get a switch blade key(the new style) for my 97 A4 off of ebay, but im not sure how all that works. Can anyone assist mr?
Do you have a remote now? The FCC code should be on the remote unit somewhere. If it's a switchblade, you'll have to separate the remote half from the switchblade half, such as to change the batteries. Mine (for an '02) reads "TEMIC-MANILA 316 MHz 8Z0 837 231 B/357733 45/01". The numbers I bolded are the ones you want to match up when shopping for a key remote.
When I got my car I didnt get a remote with it, but I believe my car HAD a remote because when I lock the doors with the key i hear the feint horn noise it makes as if I was pressing the lock button on a keyless entry remote. So is there a way I can find out if my car even has a alarm system? Thanks in advance.
just go to your local audio shop, one that installs alarm systems and sells remote unit, they will tell you if its possible to program one for you…
just ask like you wanna buy one from them, they my even give a code or type of remote you need.
