Default synthetic oil

I use mobil synthetic and i've noticed that every month to month and 1/2 Im low a quart. A friend of mine who's a mechanic told me that its normal with synthetic oil, that in fact he uses synthetic on his brand new pt cruiser and has the same situation. My vehicle doesn't smoke, when I check the dip stick the oil is clean. What do you guys think?

every month or so you lose a quart? Uh no thats not exactly normal in most cases. How old is your car?

You don't see any leaks under the car after it sits for a full day or so? Could be a very small leak somewhere that you won't notice unless the car is parked for a while (ie. cam shaft seals) - or possibly an oil leak near the turbo that simple gets burned away so you don't notice it.

My oil does drop slightly, but never by a quart.

well I guess it is possible that a 2.8 can go through more oil than a 1.8t. I'll ask my buddy with his 2.8 how much he loses during a month - you have more oil in your car than we 1.8ers do.
