Default tech support HELP

will this might be one of the hardest things im going to have to deal with.... electrical problems...
well first off the ignition switch stopped working and i replaced it.... now a couple months later it happens again. Now i notice that there is a white residue all over the plug that goes into the back of the ignition switch. also noticed, on the back of that plug where the wires come out, some of the wire is exposed. it looks burnt up and what not.... What is the deal here, this sucks.. i even called the dealer in curiousity and was blown away.. 2500$$ for the wire harness id need... WOW...
back to driving the pos civic... I need any advice... for now i think im just going to search for people parting there cars out to get that part... all i can do i guess..

ANY INPUT greatly appreciated

pictures below show the exposed wire... the other the whire residue.. it out of focus but you can tell.!!

so just these wires go directly to the fuse box... how hard would you say this is going to be.....
regardless i am going to need a new plug where the wires go into.. the inside of the plug that goes into the switch is all melted up... doesnt seem safe. actaully im glad my dam car didnt start on fire.. that would have been so crappy.

if your into electrics it should be simple and the wire I pointed out simply clips into that unit so the clip should be replaced because that could be the fault of the short which is whats happened, tracing cables is another thing but simple enough if you take your time

now your talking wire loom and expensive the clip is easily undone with a thin flat blade screw driver and these parts can be had from electrical stores like Tandy or others

tandy?? never heard of that store.. what would these little pieces be called... i just tried to get that one wire out and it wont budge.. i slid the purlple piece up the wires. and tuged on it. im know im no doing it right. that whole piece is pretty retarded... this sucks.. i think ill get it figure out though...

HERES my game plan

im just going to try and get a new black and purple piece from another car or whatever... then im going to re wire the wires into the new pieces. splice the shitty wire and replace it and connect it like normal..... hopefully everything will work and it wont short out and burn up...

THOUGHTS on this..? where can i get these parts ?
