I'm hoping to become one of the proud owners of an A4 - currently I'm looking to buy one from ebay. I found one that I am particularly interested in, could you guys please offer some comments on whether this is a good vehicle to buy?

The only drawback I can think off is that this used to be a fleet vehicle. So I dont know much about the maintaince record of the vehicle. I don't know for a 2.8V6, whether timing belt is at 75k miles or 120k miles. I'm interested in buying the extended warranty - how long should I buy it for, given the age of this vehicle?

Price is a bit steep. My 2000 A4 is now at 172K miles. I bought it in AUG 2004 for 11k at 75K miles.

Extended warranties are a crap shoot. Read the small print, buy from a reputable company, and be prepared for them to fight you on any claim you make.
