I just bought a 00 A6 2.7T with 98k miles, do you think it's worthwhile to purchase a third party warranty (e.g. http://www.autorepairwarranty.com/)?
It's about $1400 though.

What are your experiences?

Don't know. Depends on what they cover, and what the deductable is, and for how many miles the warranty covers.

Before buying an aftermarket warranty, do a search on the company, and see if they actually pay for anything.
