throttle body adaption

Default throttle body adaption

Just wondered if anybody has done a throttle body adaption, and if so how do you do it? and is it that importaint after removing the battery, as i have and the car don't seem to recognise where the throttle postion is. any help would be great.

Turn the car on, but do not start it, & DO NOT touch any of the peddles, let it sit for 2min.

If nothing is broken & the adaption is "OK" it will go through the adaption.

Hi there buddy I tried the above letting it sit for 2 minutes but didn't work, still produced fault code throttle body fault at base setting, and car missfires on acceleration any ideas[]

turn the Key to ON and jam the pedal the to Floor and wait for about 2 minutes, then get off pedal and wait with key ON for a few more minutes then you should be all set.

What is the code, did you ever think that maybe you have a broken part, Buddy?

The procedure is different depending on what year you have.. Details are important, Buddy. But yeah, your TB fault code might have something to do with it too.

the year of the audi is 97 and the code wasj338 i beleive, took the car for a spin today and reached about 70 okay but then when i went to overtake a truck the car started to loose power, any ideas

I must appologise to anyone I have called BUDDY as i'm from the uk and over here it is a word we commonly use,

However today am getting car scanned with vag-com but still wonder if it could be a faulty lead? any ideas mine has a coil pack with 2 leads comming out of it to plugs 1 and 2
