i wasn't really looking for an "upgrade" per say, just something a bit newer in a similar car. i've also considered an '01 s4, so we'll see. maybe i'll just hold out until i can afford a b7 a4, which is what i would really like.

onepoint8tee, are you sure there's not an ultra sport? mine has the 17" wheels on the rs6 and the newer ultra sports. maybe it's not called that, but it definitely has the nicer wheels.

There is no such thing as an '01 Ultra sport. Just a 'sport'. That aside, if you are looking to upgrade, a B6 is deff. an upgrade from the B5. Newer body, a little more room, nicer interior, better options, better car period. If you want to wait to get a B7, then by all means do it. If you are going to wait for the B7, you might as well wait for the B8(if you like the new body style and engine options) A B5 S4 is a sweet modable car, but remember that the most recent B5 S4 is going to be almost 6 or so years old. It depends on what you want..........

yeah, i've always loved the b6 look, especially a black ultra sport.

i love the upcoming b8 as well, but probably wouldn't be able to afford one for a couple years.

maybe i'll wait a year or two and look for a b6 s4.

i personally dislike the b6 look the most out of any a4. i'd also personally like to get an s4 after this.. which should be around when I graduate college, (3 years).. but 3 years is a long time, so who knows.

Anyway, 19k is way to high. I think the dealer is banking on the fact that it's an 05, so he can bump the price up, but I wouldn't take the bait. I've seen b6's with 30k miles for 19k. If you really want the b6 look, keep looking.. I'm sure you can find better deals on ultra sports aswell. I'm glad I didn't buy the first Audi I had my eye out for at a dealership, and I'd advise that if you can't get the price lowered, walk away.

by the way, considering the fact that you're even willing to pay 19k for a 70k mile b6 a4, tells me that you aren't even looking.

From a B6 Ultrasport owner;

If you can bargain it down (also has it had its timing belt replaced with that mileage?), you should definitely enjoy it. It is definitely an upgrade from the B5 1.8s I sat in when I was going through all the various stealership inventories, in terms of interior attractiveness, and driving feedback. Do look around and do your homework though, I was just chiming in to say that its what I bought, and I absolutely adore it. I should mention I have the 6sp, not the Tippy.

b6 USP's are sexy, but in your situation i would probly give it another year or so until you can afford a b7 or b8. they're upgrades from the b6 and you'll want one as soon as you have your b6.

and yeah there is no b5 ultra-sport

i realize 19k is high, i was interested in it b/c i think i can get the dealer to come down a significant amount. i really haven't even started to look yet, this was just one that i saw at a local stealership that caught my eye.

Ya man, I would keep lookin around. Stealerships don't go down too much on price. Depending on where you live, you can find a nice B6 with low mileage for less than 14k.
