I have a question... if my engine was replaced by audi due to the oil pump recall... would that include a new T-belt or no? or does that make no sense at all?

 

DOOO IT. Its fun tearing appart the entire font end of your car just to replace a belt/tensioner. I try to do it once a month to keep me sharp and confident.

 

they put an entire brand new engine in your car? if so.. i doubt they would put an old belt on a new engine

I am doing mine this week. It will be the most invasive procedure I have yet performed on any vehicle.

But, like everyone says, you will learn from the experience. There is a good write up for t-belt on audiworld's tech section.

Just follow everything carefully, and I am sure you can do it.

 

yeah they put a brand new engine in... I am hoping that means theres a new t belt since my 01 has 130 k on it already. it had all of its services but still if not it will be needing its second one soon! damn... but the new engine has like 15 k... so its all good and audi picked up the bill which was nice.
