timing belt question
David, the timing belt change is anything but fun.

I pretty sure thats only on the 2001's awm engine code the atw's and aeb's have external water pumps

always replace the water pump impellar if you have a 1,8t... The 1.8's timing belt runs the the water pump, so if the impellar goes bad it will throw/shred the belt and you are in a world of hurt.
Your engine code is stamped on the head, not sure but it may be under the engine cover with the 4 rings, or it may be just below it (towards the front of the car)
