Default Timing belt replacement 2000 1.8T

Just had the timing belt. water pump, engine seals, tensioner, tensioner and idler rollers and accessory belts changed (by my local mechanic).

Boy, this didn't look like something for the faint of heart. I'm glad I didn't attempt this with a few buddies and a 6-pack. Labour was 300 dollars, well worth it as far as I am concerned.

Looked real ugly! Turned out, much to my dismay, that this was the first time he'd done this on an Audi. The guy did a great job, once he figured out how to get access to the front of the engine.

I'm paranoid about interference engines. I didn't mind fooling around with my Camry, cause I knew if I F*kd up, The car just wouldn't run right, no big deal.

I believe 50 or 55. Literally, it probably took him a good 5 hours or work. The guy was meticulous.

Lets see what a shakedown does over the next few days to make sure there are no leaks.

wow, that is a hell of a deal. The lowest I was quoted on this job was 600 bucks! As Chris said, its not really as big of a deal as it may seem. I had the cam holder tool and the crankshaft tool, so there was no way for me to screw things up. He's quick, it took me 12 hours to finish mine!

Isn't this a beautiful site??

Yes, it is, especialy with the snub mount. I ordered one, at the last minute, but it didn't arrive in time.
