Default Timing Belt Tensioner - New vs. Old

So, I bought my '98 with 75k on it about a month and a half ago. I intended to change the timing belt immediately, but haven't found the time yet.

Here's my question: If the timing belt has already been changed, it would have the new style tensioner, right? Is the new style tensioner visually different than the old? What I'm getting at is, is there potential that I can I tell if the belt has been changed by removing the covers and looking at the tensioner?

Yeah it would have the new tensioner unless the last time it was changed was in 98 or 99, I think they started using the new one in 2000. You probably have the old tensioner. you have to take off the bottom of the two covers to see it, i think, and to do that you need to remove a couple bolts which would be really hard to get to without taking it all appart. If you dont know if its been done, its worth it to just buy the parts and be ready for it... Unless you got an extra like 3g's sittin around.. They are visually different.
