This is a scary situation and I was curious if anyone has had this problem. </P>


I have a 2000 A42.8 with Tiptronic. It was sticking is 3rd gear and I was in automatic mode not tiptronic. Has this happend to anyone else or any advisce?</P>

Never had my auto stick like that. Might want to bring it to a dealer to have it checked for codes. Could be as simple as a bad Tranny ECU. Worst case a bad tranny.

yeah it could be your fluid is low, so the pressure is not as high as it should be for changing gears.

there is no way to check the level of your tanny fluid. It's"sealed" so you either have to drain and fill it yourself (pain)or take it to a shop to have it done (easy). </P>

well... there is technically a way to check the level, but I would not suggest a noob do it. No offense to any noobs.
