My math, $0.25 for a diode, $40-100 for a mbc, $40-80 for a boost gauge. Those look more appealing to me.
I was waiting on that reply from you... You were quicker than I expected.... Touche'.

or the speedtuning chip for a bit more than a new TurboXS boost controller and diode. If you don't know to buy metric or SAE tools, I wouldn't recommend you attempt a diode install. You just need an 8mm to open the ECU cover...haha. And DO get a boost gauge.

no, ya dont. The ecu has nothing to do with a diode install

He's talking about taking out and sending the ecu to speedtuning or whatever the **** that place is called.

No, Cincy, I mean for the chip...you are that confident in him that you think he can handle doing a diode install himself?

Its not as complicated as it sounds/looks. A lot of the DIY articles on it that Ive seen make it sound intensive. Its not. Though I havent done it, Im pretty sure a monkey could.

My bad, i just reread your post and what i said makes no sense.. [:@]

A diode is all of soldering a diode between 2 wires and setting a boost controller. Thats it. I even give you the location and identify the 2 wires to connect. A 4yr old could do it.

yeah, monkey see monkey do. I was gonna do it, but I decided on the cheapchip instead for now. It's on junkyard passat 1.8T ecu that I got cheap anyway. I kept my original ecu for sending out for a BT program that I'll need much later down the road.
