Default Torn CV Boot

Dealership wants 510 dollars to fix my torn CV Boot. Anyone know how much this should cost or how easy it is to do myself.

its not super easy to do yourself..on a scale of 1-10 its probably about a 6...you can get a boot kit from ecs for WAY less than 510 bucks..or you can also have an independent mechanic do it for 150-200 bucks

i bought the new entire axle, torque wrench, and all of the other tools needed to replace mine for around 200 dollars. It was the first time working on my car so it took me around two hours to do. If you plan on doing it your self I can copy and paste the pages out of the bently manual which shows you how to do this step by step. If you do decide to do this at the dealership, ask them how much it would be to replace the entire axle not just the cv boot because more than likely it will cost a **** load in labor because it will take them longer to take your old cv joint off and repair it, than to just get a new axle and slap it on your car.
