Default Torque converter

Hi
I have just been told I need a torque converter due to eng.light check
code 741. Also found out that once you replace the trans. fluid which
you need to do when changing torque converter, you
can kiss your transmission goodbye within a year so it's best to get
a new transmission from the start. Any help in this matter appreciated. Thanks

Ive actually replaced a torque convertor on one of my cars, it was a Galant not an Audi and i had no issuesi hamered on the car and never had any trouble this is when i knew nutin about cars and didnt car about them. No tranny issues waht so ever, the only thing that i could see happening is if you have a weak tranny all the extra power you will get( going back to stock could hurt your gears) other then that should have no worries.

Don't worry about it. The theory about it is, that the new fluid will flush out all of the gunk in the trans, and hose the valve body & torque converter. The trans needs to be severally neglected, & have a ton of build up for this to happen. With the high quality synthetics today, it's not an issue.
