Tow company messed up my car?
Okay to make a long story short. I had to call AAA because my 2007 A4 All-Wheel, ignition switch went out. First flat bed came tied a cable to the front eye hook and dragged the front away from the curb because a car was parked in front of my car. He then realized it was 4wheel drive and the vehicle was stuck in the park position. He called another (regular) tow truck. This guy had to place dolleys on the rear tire but it was to close to the curb. So he dragged the rear of the vehicle far enough away from the curb to have room to place the dollies under the rear tires. I didn't like how the rear wheels didn't want to give way and it seemed like a tug of war between the rear wheels and tow truck. When he got out of his truck and said "I hate when I have to do this." I knew maybe two dummies didn't know what they were doing?
I finally got it home only to find at least what seemed a half quart of oil under my car on the driveway? Today I jacked the vehicle up but couldn't get a good look at where the oil was coming from. But I think it is coming from the passenger side driver cvc shaft?
I don't know much about cars but could the tow have damaged the shaft? And if so what kind of damage and cost will I be looking at?
Thanks, Allan

If he towed the car with either the front and/or back wheels on the ground with it IN GEAR, there will be MAJOR damage and you wouldn't have any tires left - Audi's and other AWD are NOT supposed to be towed except with all 4 wheels ON a flatbed/trailer (so no tires 'rolling' on the ground-even if they are in neutral or out of gear). Even UHaul or Penske etc will NOT give you a tow dolly because of this if you tell them make and model of your vehicle and it shows its an AWD.
Was it in gear when it was towed? If he PULLED it out by the eye hook from the curb, in gear etc, I would guess that wasn't good for the tires or the steering components either.
But if it was towed in gear, with 2 tires on the ground, you wouldn't have tires left by the time it got home, so a little more explanation would be good on how it was towed etc. but COULD the tow truck driver have damaged your car....anything is possible, and being around tow trucks a lot, the trucks my friends use have a 'lift' on them to lift the car up and inch them out from the curb.....
