transmission help...

transmission help...
After doing some research on Audiforums. I think my inverted gear selector switch is bad. I have the same symptoms as this guy did on thisforum https://www.audiforums.com/m_78103/tm.htm. Anyone know if this repair can be done without taking it to a dealer? Or has anyone done this repair themselves.

I even looked through the bentley manual for you. I don't see anything called specifically gear selector switch. Unfortunately, they don't have descriptions of what the other sensors control. Perhaps if we knew the correct term as used by the manual I could help you find it and see how difficult it is to replace yourself (if you could get the part).
A few of your options listed:
Automatic transmission control module - in footwell
Multifunction transmission range switch - on left side of tranny housing
Tiptronic switch - down in the shift mechanism
Transmission range selector lever display - in instrument cluster
Hopefully someone else can help you out more. Good luck.
