Transmission noise

On my 1999 2.8 Quatro with a manual transmission, when I accelerate in 1st gear the transmission makes a rattling noise. This only happens in 1st gear and the other gears are OK !. Any ideas ??

could be any number of things, I just recently had mine appart, thers a bunch of parts and some that would only make noises in first, Do you feel anything in the drive, or in the shifter when its making this noise.

same thing happens to my 99 a4 1.8t, it doesnt happen that much on first gear but when im going slow then all of the sudden i accelerate to the max...oh yeah i have an auto

that could be really bad in an auto. but if its not doing anything wrong I would just have the fluid drained and checked, don't let them just flush it. actualy look at the fluid for a paste or metel in the pan.
