Trying to decide between b5 or b6
if i had to do it over, i would have still gone with a b5. for modding it does have a couple advantages, weight (2001 b5 vs a b6.. same engine, lighter body) and responsiveness. if its that hard to find a 2001 a4 in good condition with low miles, its all the more reason to buy one, it's more rewarding to find one in good shape in low miles. i've driven literally hundreds of audis, b4, b5, b6 and b7s... my favorite is still the b5. b7 in second place.
with a nice drop and wheels, i don't think any other looks as aggressive as the b5. especially the b6, it's too soft looking and bubbly as someone else put it in this thread or another. though with some more money, you can definitely make a b6 looks great.
also consider the better value the b5 is, if you aren't too concerned with resale.. i bought my 2001 for $10k with 58k miles with every option (sport, winter, premium).. I see b6 base model, 2002 sell for 2-4 thousand more, with 20-30 thousand more miles.
To each his own, both great cars.

Im really happy with My 01 B5. if i had the choice again i would have chosen the B5 beuase i really like the body styling and if u get an 01 it has the same 1.8t as B6's. and also the same spedomitor and a few other electronics inside. Pluss my car still only has 82,000km and running great. (got it with 57km
)

the b5 used to be my favorite car. it definitely had the nicest interior i'd ever seen.
then the b6 came out.
< - - - - the b6 interior is nothing short of world class.
not to mention with the usp kit it's one of the nicest stock audis ever made - inside and out.

B6, just cuz i dont know any better
but i love my b6, b5 are great too. B6 maybe a lil heavier and look more like somebody blow too much air in B5. But after all its nice to drive and i hear lil more reliable on a timing belt.
