Default Trying to take off grille

I'm having trouble getting my grille off. I'm planning on painting my stock one just for fun before my RS4 Grille comes. The problem is that I can't seem to get those tabs off. Is there a technique im not getting here? Or do I have to just force the damn thing? Thanks in advance.

You just have to force it gently, if that makes any sense. It helps to start at one end, so there's less pressure on the grille from surrounding tabs. When I removed my rings for paint, I started at one end, levered a tab up gently, then forced the rings out, and worked my way around in a circle. Keep at it and it WILL come off.

+1 rough but gental......... it will almost be to the point you think you are going to break it, but just before that

those grills are pretty freaking tough

wait till you try and get the rings out, i thought every one of those little tabs were going to break, and 1 actually did lol

you just gotta start at one side, start pushing tabs in, and work your way to the other side, trick is to have a friend (or if your skilled you can use your elbow) to push the grill out while your doing this, so the tabs dont go back into place. once the top of the grill is sticking out, the bottom will be a piece of cake and should just pop right out
