I have just had a new/ used audi a4 B7 s line 2004-2008 engine fitted in my audi by a local garage, they have been fantastic and done the job cheap...but after picking it up yesterday all excited I was informed my turbo isnt kicking in at all!? the engine and turbo are mechanically fine (no smoke from turbo and the used engine replacement only has 69k on the clock. The mechanic had changed the turbo sensors and tried everything and was pulling his hair out. He needed it 'off the ramps' so I have taken the car home and he is right....it drives like a diesel with NO turbo at all.... this is heartbreaking (why by an s line with no boost!??) He has told me I will need to get upto date diagnostics from an audi specialist as his standard diagnostics kit is just showing the turbo sensor as the problem but he has replaced both and checked all pipes and really is at a loss.
He said that I could need a re-map but isnt sure? I am dissapointed to say the least...basically after an £1100 engine and 500 worth of work and extra parts (cam belt kit, starter motor etc) I have a great looking audi that I dont even want to drive.
Now I know this mechanic and he is honest and a gentleman so I can rule out 'skulldugery' on his part but.... this leads me to my last point. Before this repair...when my car originally limped then seized up on the motorway I had an audible popping noise coming through the speakers that no one could explain as my engine had seized due to the infamous oil pump failure that is common with audis... we now think its an electrical problem...hence I now have to go to an audi specialist for diagnostics....at more cost!!!
This is driving me mad...I have paid a fortune and have a car I cannot stand the site of at the moment. Can anybody help / advise.... or just put me out of my misery haha.
