Turbo spools when Idling.???
Turbo spools when Idling.??? When I do a cold startup there is sould that sounds like the turbo spooling. and the engine seems to be reving higher then it should be and then after about a minute it all settles down to correct level anyone elses car do this or know why?
when you do a cold start the engine idles high to quickly warm up a few key components of your system. the turbo is deff not spooling at idle. it may be spining but not forcing any air.
the turbo is always spinning, but not making boost. The higher revving is the secondary air pump getting the engine up to operatting temps as fast as possible. When it goes off, the engine is warm and the revs drop
your old car didnt have it

Ya I was jsut concerned that it was something that could be a product of accidentally reversing the polarity. (pay atttention when changing the battery always. terminals are not always on the same side.
Its making an abnormal noise.
I dont care if there's a code or not, its not functioning the way it was intended.........quietly.
So, its bad.Sometimes its a break/split in the hose connected to it.Sometimes they can be cleaned, or just replace it if the noise is a bother. Or just whine on down the road and don't worry about it until it fails the rest of the way.
