you either have a hole in the line somewhere or your is dying. I never looked into buying one, but im sure a new one isnt cheap. you should be able to find someone that deleted there system on vortex to shed the weight. If you dont have emmisson, you can do the same, but its alittle bit of work

My car never idles high in cold weather, is my secondary air pump not functioning or is there something I have to adjust to make it idle high until warmed up?

My car never did this until I got back from getting chipped.. coincidently, thats the same time the weather got a bit colder. went from like 78degrees to 60. so i suppose it could be a coincidence. or at least i hope so.

i don't plan on doing this, but would it be safe to drive the car while it's idling a bit high? not hard, maybe 2k rpms. i don't plan on doing this, but every so often I let someone else drive my car and I want to know how much I have to beat it into their heads not to drive until the rpms drop.

yes, coincidence. You shouldnt be idling more than about 1k rpms and then dropping to 800rpms when warm. Your fine to drive before its done, just be easy on it because it isnt good on the turbo.

The SAP (secondary air pump) is a worthless piece of crap! The only function of the SAP is to heat up the cat converters faster upon a cold start, thats all it does! If it were up to me, i would rip that piece of dead wieght out of there and toss it in the garbage IMO.
