Default Turbo Timer

So my plans are to get a Ko4 and get one of the aggressive
files to go with it. Problem is, that i need my car to live through
college, thats about 4 years, and 25psi or so on an engine most
likely isnt good, esp when i have 100k on my car. SO i was wondering
is there any way to have a turbo timer installed into my car, just so
i can limit my boost to about stock levels. I have a heavy foot
and enjoy speed to much..... I dunno if a turbo timer is the right thing
for what i want, all i know is that it can run the car to cool the turbo after
driving. Can someone educate me???

you might want to look into a manual boost controller then...but thats a whole new can of worms...with that you should probably get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so you dont lean it out when you crank up the boost...personally i dont see any problem with your car not lasting 4 or more years with just a ko4 and an agressive file like the pc16 or the j31...

a turbo trimer only runs the car after you leave. and in my opinion. they are a waste of money. if you are going somewhere, for the last 5-10 minutes drive it easy, or just sit in it for 60 seconds idling (depending on how hard you drove it).

you want an MBC (manual boost controller). yes, you can do them. no, i dont know much about the install, but you can

25 psi isnt horrible. i have the stock turbo and i peak at 21 PSI. what i WOULD suggest is that when you get the kit (GIAC APR?) either works. you can spend a little extra money, and from your dash, you can have the car run as if it were stock. now i know this works with the stock turbo, and i BELIEVE it works with a k04, but im not sure. even so. i have a boost controller. its called my right foot.

Ok i understand, the whole right foot thing as a boost controller
lol that i dont, but when you say dash, do you meen the APR
thing that you can switch modes through the cruise control? And
that can be put on with the Ko4 file?

theres switchable programs available that can even be setup for different grades of fuel.

you can get a MBC that has programmable boost levels as well. They are old school manual switches hard to find..
