turbo upgrade
well, a week ago I posted about how my giac chip gave me no gains for some reason. I took it back to where I got my car chipped and they said there was a boost leak in a cracked pipe that feeds into the intake manifold. I just got it fixed and now it turns out there is some piece broken in my turbo that is preventing boost that creates this dinging sound (bouncing around in the turbo) whenever I release the gas. They say I need to buy a new turbo and I have very little knowledge in this area other than I don't want an OEM, so I want to upgrade to a K04.
If you have any suggestions for what kind of turbo kit I should buy for a good price or what problems I may encounter with a bigger(?) turbo or if I will need to upgrade other parts (such as larger fuel injectors/tip chip/intercooler upgrade/exhaust) to accomodate this, please let me know. I will be upgrading the giac software for the K04 after the K04 is installed.
The mechanic said I can get a K04 from kinetic motor sport for $795+$400 labor. I have no idea if this is a good price or is this is a strangely cheap price, so any help in this area would be appreciated.
btw, my car is a '99 a4 1.8T quattro w/ tip. only upgrades are a K&N, 710n dv, and giac
Thanks in advance

thats quite a good price, normally the best u can get is like 740 so i would jump on that. and a k04 wont really run you any problems with breaking things. of course, more power means more wear, but it is way in the range of the engines strength
