Default Vibration in shifter

Was wondering if anyone else has encountered vibration in the shifter while in 2nd gear. This is nothing intense but a little shake. Only really notice in 2nd.

I think that is pretty normal. Just in the shifter? Not the whole car shaking? That would be pretty normal I think.

Audi says not to hold on to the shifter, unless you are shifting. So let go and you wont notice!

Yeah, I live a life full of fear as well... I can barely afford my car, so it's little quirks can be terrifying -- as we all know how much money they can be to fix.

Mine jumps forward then back when in 6th when you are barely on the gas. Anyone else have this? It seems like its reacting to the differential changes. When i say jump i should say changes position, but it always stays firmly in gear.

Mine did that - I know the shifter connections to the transmission can be adjusted. There are two places that can be adjusted, but you have to know what you are adjusting. The reason for the vibration (and there is nothing wrong) is the fly wheel produces mild vibrations at certain RPM's, therefore conveying sympathetic vibration into the shifter.

If you can make it happen at the same RPM in third as in second, you'll know that's what it is.

Pretty normal though.

By the way, if you ever change the clutch and replace the flywheel with a lighter one (11.5 lbs vs. 25 lbs) you'll definitely feel vibration as the flywheel is getting up to speed (around 2500 RPM).
