Default vtec?

why do audi 2.8 suck ***? i heard alot of you guys talking bad about honda aka (RICE) i got my *** spanked by a SOHC civic on the strip this weekend these POS audis are made for one thing to cart'n lil billy and sally to sccoer practice. im am putting my audi up for sale and getting a civic and putting a b18 swap with turbo in it and i will take any of you 1.8t to 2.8 any day and i will have the face of "vtec just kicked in". plus a honda is cheaper to maintain and on parts than these pos audi that you have to give a kidney and left for to be fixed. HONDA RULES!

BTW honda only had intake and exhuast

Hondas weigh less. The sheet metal is thin and dings easily. Their quality is very good. Their electrical system is much simplier, lacking extras. If you turbcharge one without lowering the compression, you might blow the engine. Have fun.

I own a 1.8t and a Integra (B18a auto). I have every post on B18's and making them Vtec. It requires 500.00 for the head alone. Not to mention the electrical system etc. There is an intenral difference between auto engines and standard. Auto have a shorter rod to stroke ratio allowing them to build power faster. Great for racing. Bad for a POV...can have long term significants. VAG uses a near perfect R/S ratio for most engines of 1.74/1.75. The B18a and b are 1.54ish depending.

To make a Civic a B18 vtec you are basically talking about an entire car build! Meaning in the 2500.00 range to enclude suspension, drivetrane, mounts, engine and electrical. If you add a turbo to that it is another 2500.00.

Second, a Civic weights 2300 lbs and a 2.8 q is around 3300. That is a huge difference.

There are cars that make hondas look sick in comparison. Like the '92 S4. A far better start if you like your Audi.

You may contact me via email should you have anymore questions on the subject. If you are going to Turbo which is a topend HP increase and no effect on Torque...something Honda engines never have...you should start with an engine that develops torque. Torque is a product of displacement meaning a larger engine generally has more of it.

Get a 1.8T and swap the engine with a Dahlback 2.0 race engine and a crazy turbo like T3/T3 or GT30RS and you will only see a Civic in the mirror. What am I saying? A nice setup and a K04 can outrace a Civic.

Off course TUNING Audis is way more expensive than HOOKING UP Hondas. We are talking here about having great luxury cars perform like sport cars and not ugly hatchbacks that weight 1000 lb and can be pushed by the wind to the finish line quick.

One advatange you would have to swaping the engine in your 2.8 is that the ratio of the transmission is much closer than the 1.8t. Also, your suspension is heavier / more sprung because of th weight. If I were you I would contact the race professionals and consider their expert opion.

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE SOMEONE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. IMO you must suck at driving. LOL. A SOHC Civic beating a 2.9 Quattro or non QUATTRO, Sell you audi and buy yourself a cheap civic. With the types of things your saying you dont deserve to drive an Audi. GUY I KILL HATCHBACKS with B18 swaps and GSR's with ease. ITS all in the driver my friend. I woulda sold my car by now if i were u its embarrasing, doesnt it feel stupid coming here and telling us you got your behind handed by a SOHC Civic? [:@] O man please sounds like you should get yourself a Honda Civic...........
