Warming Up
It shouldn't require any warmup time idiling in a garage. In fact, its tougher on the engine to let it warm up while it's just sitting there. You should be ready to drive your car within 30 seconds of turning it on. I'd say a remote starter is a bad idea.
Once you get going, you should let your oil temp gauge get to the halfway point, thats its normal operating temp. Should probably keep the rpms under 3K until it warms up.
